I was grateful for the chance to share some comments for this very moving article by Nandini Maharaj, Ph.D. for Apartment Therapy. If you’ve ever been told to “move on” while you’re grieving, you may relate to the author’s journey after the loss of her beloved dog Dally. Her powerful words: “The grief I felt then and still feel now reflects the depth of our bond. For Dally and me, moving on was never an option.”

Read the article for more about why our pets’ belongings have such meaning to us and how to navigate the tender territory of how to approach a pet’s items after loss.
